Dr. Maya Meinhold Shelton, DC is a Certified Animal Chiropractor in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
She completed her Doctorate of Chiropractic at Northwestern Health Sciences University and obtained her Animal Chiropractic Certification from Options for Animals College of Animal Chiropractic.
Dr. Maya also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls in Animal Science with an Equine Emphasis.
Dr. Maya is certified in a myriad of soft tissue techniques including Myofascial Release Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Postural Balancing, and more in order to provide the best possible care to your animal partners and companions. Along with the traditional HVLA (high velocity, low amplitude) adjustments that are the core of chiropractic Dr. Maya is also a co-founder of the Equine BAC Technique. BAC stands for a biomechanical approach to chiropractic that utilizes both facilitated releases and guided mobilizations. This technique is gentler and often better tolerated by many horses.
